When applying, you should always make sure that you send an up-to-date CV (ideally with the date on which it was completed), a letter of motivation and your university certificates. Please structure your CV to show your last position, most recent education and occupation first. Errors in the CV (including the incorrect date and incorrect address) should be avoided, as this is the business card that recruiters see first and may lead to an unfavourable outcome in your application.

The initial interview is for us to find out about you as a person and for you to get a better picture of our firm, the team and our corporate culture. Our meetings can be held either virtually or physically in our office. For virtual interviews, we recommend that you check your electronic tools in advance to make sure that the interview can progress as smoothly as possible. For face-to-face interviews, we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time (not too early), but never late. If you anticipate being delayed, please inform us. Dress code: Please dress appropriately for the interview, business casual is always a good guideline. Everyone is nervous during their first interview, but you should consider this as much an interview for us as it is for you. You should take this opportunity to prepare questions for us, in order to evaluate whether our firm has the right team and company culture for you. Our questions are aimed at getting to know you as a person. Our goal is that we end the interview with all of your questions answered and for both sides to have a better impression of who you/we are and whether you would make a good addition to our team. In some cases, depending on the size of the team, there may be more than one interview and/or a request for a work sample. If a work sample is required it will be for the purpose of assessing your level of knowledge and to let you know what to expect.

Once a decision has been made, we will inform you via telephone. In case of a positive outcome, we will explain all the key points of the cooperation and submit a written offer. At this point please feel free to ask any additional questions that you may have. If you are unsuccessful in this instance do not be discouraged. We would suggest that you continue to peruse our job offers and apply at another time. It is important for us to find the right person for the job on offer and just because it did not work out this time, it does not mean that it will not work out in the future. We would encourage you to keep in contact with us, as there may be new opportunities in the future. Yes! An internship with Wolf Theiss doesn’t just mean making coffee and photocopying. You will be working on real cases and have direct contact with clients enabling you to see how your theoretical knowledge applies in practice. Many of our Associates began as Legal Interns – which gives you an added advantage to other applicants when Associate positions become available.

We are looking for exceptional candidates that combine good grades with excellent legal and social skills, work experience and extracurricular activities as well as a solid command of the English language. In addition, you should have already completed exams in Civil and Corporate Law.

We believe that our month-long internships are adequate to gain a comprehensive insight into one area of law and the team that works in that area. It is therefore important that you have a strong interest in the field of which you are interning, but not necessarily prior experience.

In Vienna, our internships occur in the same months every year: February, July, August and September, each for a 4-week period. If you are interested in another location, please contact the respective Office Operations Manager directly.

This is not a typical ‘job interview’, as we prefer to give you the opportunity to present your legal and people skills to the fullest. Our Career Days enable us to get to know you, while you can get to know us as a future employer. In Vienna, our application process begins in early September and runs until mid-November for the February internships and from mid-November to mid-February for the summer internships.
